SINCE REED SWITCHES ARE MADE OF FRAGILE GLASS, extreme care needs to be taken when handling them. Even if semi-flexible potting compounds are used, a reed switch contact could break by naturally occurring thermal expansion and contraction in doors and windows. If not corrected, damaged contacts will indicate a secure state even when the system is armed and an opening is breached. MAGNASPHERE’s high security switch technology is virtually indestructible.
